Let’s face facts no one like chores. Doing housework doesn’t
even get near my top 100 list of things I like to do. With
that said though, I also don’t like a messy house,
especially when company stops by unexpectedly. So despite my
dislike for the tasks at hand, I have found it is in my best
interest to have a system that allows me to complete my list
of chores as fast as humanly possible.
Like most things in life, if you simply make a list of the
chores that need to be done and a schedule when you would
like to have them completed; you will quickly and easily be
able to keep your home in spic and span condition.
You may not currently have your own list, that’s OK. Feel
free to use one of ours (which you can find at the bottom of
this page) or if you are feeling really creative or your
simply don’t like our chore checklist, you can simply use
our checklist as a guide and make you own.
Below is a list of the 10 most common rooms in a house -
just to make sure you don’t forget any of the major ones.
1. Bathroom(s)
2. Bedroom(s)
3. Kitchen
4. Dinning Room
5. Living Room
6. Office
7. Family Room
8. Game/Play Room
9. Front and Backyards
10. Basement
Take my word for it, you will be surprised at the amount of
time saved when you simply have all of your chores in a easy
to read and simple to understand format. Setting your
cleaning system up this way will allow you to quickly see
what has been cleaned this week and what still needs to be
done.
As a side note, one benefit of you being more organized,
other than your house simply being much cleaner; a good
weekly house cleaning checklist will also let you quickly
find out if you’re Kids, Husband/Wife, or roommates are
keeping up with their responsibilities. Like with most other
things in life if your loved ones are accountable for their
actions, or in actions, there is a much better chance the
“thing” they are being held accountable for will get
actually done. This could mean less cleaning for you.

Finding the Right House Cleaning Service for Your Family!
Finding the right house cleaning service for you and your family is much easier then it use to be thanks to the internet, but the internet is not the only place to find a great house cleaning service. If you are one of the 1000’s of people looking for a service right now and are not sure how to find the best company for you and your family make sure you read this article.
House Cleaning Services that are Available.
Still one of the most popular house cleaning services around today is Molly Maids. Molly Maids was founded in 1979, and has its headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. They are actually the largest home cleaning franchise network in the world, but since each office is independently owned and operated you still get the small town customer service.
One of the advantages to using a big company like this is the trust factor you can trust that they will be around next week and won’t be going out of business anytime soon. One of the disadvantages though of using a large company like this is price. On average Molly Maids is more expensive then a smaller one or two person show but many times in life you do get what you pay for.
If you go with one of the smaller cleaning services make sure you do plenty of research to ensure they are reliable and trustworthy. After all you are inviting these people into your house each and every week. Here is a list of some of the items you may want to research.
· Ask for and actually call their references
· Are they bonded and insured
· How long have they been in business
· Do they have a business license
· Do they have a office or do they work out of there home
· Do you feel you will get good customer service
We all know that some companies are more reputable than others, and so you want to make sure you take the time to find a business that is legit and that is deserving of your hard earned money; Once you have narrowed the list down to your top two or three companies weather big or small call and check with the Better Business Bureau in your area to determine if any pervious clients have had problems with any of the companies you are considering doing business with. If the company has negative reviews from the BBB that usually means that a customer complained and the company refused to work to solve the problem.
With all this information you will be able to make an informed decision in regards to which house cleaning service is right for you and your family.

Someones Got to do the Dirty Work: House Cleaning Toilet Edition.
Cleaning the toilet - is one of those necessary household chores that no one likes to do. At times being the person responsibly for the up keep of the house can be really disgusting. No cleaning job is more disgusting than cleaning the toilets in the house cleaning. Lucky for you we have come up with a few house cleaning toilet tips that can make this process a little bit less crappy.
<!–more–>
House Cleaning Toilet Tips!
It’s not the toilets fault they are one of the most un-sanitary place in the house. How unsanitary well that depends, of course, on how much it is used and how often it is cleaned. It really is up to you as to how often your toilets should be cleaned. In general though, a good house cleaning toilet tip is that a toilet that is used quite a bit should be cleaned a minimum of once a week, twice would be even better. While a toilet that isn’t used on a regular basis, like the toilet in a guest bathroom, only needs to be cleaned once every two weeks to three weeks.
Make sure you have all the tools of the toilet cleaning trade handy before you start the cleaning process. Out of all the various tools you may need rubber gloves are probably the most important thing, because toilet bowls are breeding grounds for germs, and as such you don’t want your hands to come in contact with the toilet bowl water if at all possible.
Although cleaning the toilet in your house is not rocket science, it does take precision to avoid getting the toilet bowl water everywhere (I guess that’s why my young kids don’t do clean the toilets). If you do happen to get a little over zealous while cleaning and get toilet water all over the place make sure you use disinfectant spray and wipe it up immediately.
I would also not suggest you wear your Sundays best when preparing to clean the toilet. In fact I have found the best items to wear are an old pair of jeans and an old t-shirt and the best time of the week to clean the toilets is right before I am going to start a fresh load of laundry. This way when I am done cleaning the toilets I can change and drop those potentially nasty clothes in the laundry machine.
Lucky for us the miracles of modern science have blessed us with many great items such as toilet bowl brush that can clean the toilet and then be flushed down the toilet. Do I ever love these little guys, not only do I not have to keep ugly toilet bowl brushes in each bathroom it is much more sanitary. There are also those little toilet bowl tablets that disinfect the toilet water each time the toilet is flushed and many more items available. Cleaning the toilets in your house is defiantly a dirty job but it is better then the alternative…unless your lucky enough to have the alternative be having your spouse clean the toilets

Most feel the kitchen to be the most important room in the house. If you think about it this makes perfect sense, seeing as how this is where all food is cooked. To make sure that you keep the kitchen as hygienic a place as possible for your family, you must clean the kitchen on a daily basis.
The Ins and Outs of Cleaning the Most Important Room in Your House - The Kitchen
When cleaning the kitchen in your house you have to do more then just wipe down the counters with a sponge and towel. When cleaning your kitchen you need to make sure you pay special attention to the counters, the kitchen sink, the stove, the microwave and of course the dishes.

Do You Really Have to Clean the Kitchen Everyday?
Well the short answer is it depends on how often you and your family use the kitchen for cooking. If you go out to eat most days or cook TV dinners on a regular basis, you may actually get by with only having to clean the bulk of your counter, stove and microwave once or twice a week.
On the other hand if you and your family love to cook , you will need to do a more detailed cleaning job in the kitchen on a daily basis. The process is much simpler if you clean all the pots and pans immediately after you use them. You will also find that if you unload the dishwasher in the morning and load the dishes through out the day as well as while you are cooking your meals, cleaning up at the end of the day will be much easier.
Another important cleaing tip is to make sure you keep the kitchen sink area clean. Many people make the mistak of washing their dishes in the sink and letting the leftover food go right down the drain. Over a period of time this will clog the drain, so be sure to use the garbage disposal if you have one. If you don’t have a garbage disposal, be sure to deposit any unwanted leftover food in the trash can before you wash the plate and dishes in the sink.
Arguably the number one appliance in your kitchen is the refrigerator, which should be cleaned thoroughly once per month. Another common mistake made when cleaning the refrigerator is too only use only a sponge and some water, but it is important to note that you must dry the water too, otherwise the left over water mixed with the low temperature of the refrigerator may cause mold.
Many kitchens have tiled walls and backsplashes, and it is important that those tiles are cleaned as often as the bathroom tiles are cleaned (about once per week). Make sure you use a softer cleaning chemical in the kitchen compared to the one you may use in the bathroom. Keeping up with the cleaning in the kitchen can be a daunting task, especially if you are responsibly for cleaning the rest of the house as well but remember take your time try to have fun and do the best job you can.

Is it time to get your entire houses cleaning chores organized? If the answer is yes, you will want to make your own weekly checklist for house cleaning. Now that can be easier said then done though. So here is a bit of information to help you along the way.
By placing weekly house cleaning chores into a checklist, you will make the necessary tasks visible to the entire family. You will also be able to lay out a plan so that the entire family can contribute. A weekly checklist for house cleaning allows you the ability to keep track of the weekly chores that have been completed and those that still need to be done. A checklist will also help to keep you on track with your house cleaning chores and ensure that your home stays in tip top condition. As an added bonus a clean home will make for a much more peaceful and relaxing environment for both you and your family.
Before you Attack the Weekly Checklist for House Cleaning…
There are two primary ways to use your checklist. First is to do a little each day and check them off as you go. The second option is to attack the majority of the list in one swoop. If this approach to a clean home is more to your liking, there are a few guidelines that will help to make your day of cleaning kitchens and bathrooms more productive. First, schedule a regular time to clean, and don’t let anything distract you from the task at hand. Let the answering machine handle the phone calls, and let Tivo take care of any shows on TV you may be missing out on during your cleaning session. Feel free to play some upbeat music while you work. I have found good upbeat music tends to keep your energy level high enough to keep me going.
Make sure you have an enough of the various house cleaning products in the house and ready to go before you start cleaning. Nothing can put the brakes on a house cleaning spree faster then running out of cleaning products. The best method for this is to keep all of your cleaning supplies and tools in a tote or plastic bucket so that the various cleaning products are easy to move from room to room. If you want to really get fancy they also have special cleaning organizers available. The best way to attack a room is to do what the professionals do and plan to only circle the room once. When you are standing at the bathroom sink, take the time to wipe down the counters tops and the mirrorsl. This method will save you both time and energy, which will allow you to get everything done on your list in one cleaning session.
So what should you Include on your Weekly Checklist for House Cleaning
The chores you need to include on your weekly house cleaning checklist are vacuuming, dusting, a complete wipe-down of all bathrooms in your house as well as your kitchen. You will want to change out all of the linens you use in the house on a daily basis like dish towels bathroom hand towels etc. Don’t forget to clean all the kitchen appliances. Finish off your weekly checklist by gathering all of the trash from the house and taking it out, this will ensure every room in your home smells as fresh as it looks. By using a weekly house cleaning checklist your house will be kept in tip top shape.
